University
of Mumbai
The
University of Mumbai (known earlier as University of Bombay) is one of the
oldest and premier Universities in India. It was established in 1857
consequent upon "Wood's Education Dispatch", and it is one amongst
the first three Universities in India.
As a sequel to the change in the name of
the city from Bombay to Mumbai, the name of the University has been changed
from "University of Bombay" to "University of Mumbai",
vide notification issued by the Government of Maharashtra and published in
the Government Gazette dated 4th September, 1996.

Goethe-Institut
Like
the other Goethe-Instituts in India, the Goethe-Institut Mumbai is known as
Max Mueller Bhavan, named after the German Indologist Friedrich Max Mueller
(1823 – 1900) who became famous for his work in Oxford on the ancient Indian
texts and his impact on the study of Indian philology, history and religion.
The
Institut organises and hosts a large variety of programmes which present
German culture and also provides information on cultural life in Germany.

Indo
German Training Centre
The
Indo-German Training Centre is the management training division of the
Indo-German Chamber of Commerce. Established in Mumbai (in 1991), Chennai (in
2005) and Bangalore (in 2008), all the three IGTCs share a common vision
under the aegis of the Chamber. They conduct a flagship 18-month, full-time
Post Graduate Programme in Business Administration (PGPBA) based on the famed
German Dual Education System to nurture future management trainees for German
and other IGCC member companies.
